Felicity Brown

Felicity brown
Brown studied at the Royal College of Art and worked
for Alberta Ferretti, Mulberry and Lanvin before setting up her
own label. Her Design signatures are “Attention to fabric,
hand-dying and printing” by her own account.
I really admire designers that gain inspiration from the arts.
I love to take ideas from artists, paintings or sculptures
in creating my designs. Brown states that Picasso’s etching
work has inspired her autumn/winter 2011 collection.

These gorgeous designs could have almost been inspired by
the works of Peter Lanyon. Lanyon was the leading
exponent of abstract expressionism in Britain in the 1950s.
In tandem with contemporaries in America and Europe he
developed a new language for painting with his
unmatched formal and technical experimentation.
He saw himself as remaking the tradition of landscape
painting, using landscape and places to express ideas
about states of being and the human condition.
